The seas where the North Pacific meets the Bering Sea has some of the greatest biomass in the world. And with this comes a host of sea-birds and cetaceans to feed on the marine wealth. Scatter these rich seas with a garland of islands bridging the gap between Asia and North America and you have an amazing mix.
The Mix is not just the avifauna but the clash of cultures which sees derelict KGB and submarine stations close to the USA border.
Colin was a member and chair of the British Birds Rarities Committee [BBRC] for 19 years and has travelled the Northern Hemisphere in search of birds which might just turn up in Britain. Come and hear tales & see photos of species that you’ve only dreamed of.
The attached photograph, of a Siberian Rubythroat, was taken by Colin.
