“Hilbre Bird Observatory” – John Elliot
An insight into the workings of our local Bird Observatory.
At the start of his illustrated presentation John will give some background information about the Observatory.
He likes to look at things that are changing, so he will also include some information about rare birds. Paddyfield Warbler and Blyth’s Reed Warbler to mention a couple, but also Yellow-browed Warbler, which was once considered as rare as a Paddyfield, but now that has changed.
There are lots of other changes going on. A notable event this year being the possible breeding of Eiders on Hilbre.
This illustrated presentation will take place at Kingsmead School Hall, Bertram Drive, Hoylake, CH47 0LL. This is not a ticket event – please just come along.
The attached photograph, taken by John, shows Eiders off Hilbre – “Did they breed in 2019?
