A favourite reservoir in the Peak District, with excellent facilities, birds and walks, suitable for all.
Carsington Water is a reservoir operated by Severn Trent Water, situated in picturesque Derbyshire near Ashbourne. There is an impressive Visitors Centre with toilets, café, shops etc. where we will park. You can then walk as far or as little as you wish. (Although the full 8.5 mile circuit may be too much!). Good, flat paths. There are bird hides dotted around the reservoir, with a mix of habitats with water, woods, scrub and fields.
