Port Sunlight Riverside Park

The park, which opened in 2014, is a former landfill site but it has been transformed to provide visitors with a scenic waterfront and a variety of walks.  An area of salt marsh to the north of the site, along with River Mersey mud flats is already an important site for large populations of water birds.  There is a pool and some woodland.  In the park centre is a 37 metre high hill (half a metre higher than Liverpool Cathedral!) offering stunning views across the river to the Liverpool waterfront and the UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Meet 9.30am at PSRP car park at end of:

Dock Road North, Bromborough, Wirral, CH62 4TQ

If the car park is full (it is only small), park outside on Dock Road North, then walk up to the car park.

Directions

From the large roundabout at the southern end of the A41 dual carriageway where it meets the New Chester Road and Bolton Road, take Bolton Road East.  Carry on to the T-junction at the end and turn right onto Dock Road North.  Continue straight on to the end of the road and into the car park.

All paths are well surfaced.  Flat routes around the perimeter.  We can also climb the hill (it’s not too arduous!).

Café with toilets.

Please text Hugh on 07527 828 571 if you intend to come along, so he can alert you in the event of any changes to the plans.
