Chester Millennium Greenway

A leisurely walk through rural Cheshire, along a disused railway line. Good café at turning-around point!

The Chester Millennium Greenway runs along the route of an old railway line from Mickle Trafford, located east of Chester, through the historic city of Chester and finally to the Wharf at Connah’s Quay.  We will walk a small section from the east of Chester along to Mickle Trafford, where we can stop for lunch before returning back. There are no toilets en-route, but there is a nice café at Meadow Lee Farm in Mickle Trafford with toilets for customers.  Flat and hopefully dry paths.

Your SatNav may take you a different way, but I think the easiest route to follow is:

Take the M53 towards N Wales/Chester.

Exit at J12 and take third exit, following the A56/Warrington Road.

At Hoole Roundabout, take third exit following A41/Greenfield Lane.

Turn left onto Manning Lane South.

Continue straight onto Kingsway.

Opposite Kingsway shopping centre (with Co-op), turn left into Fairfield Road to park.

There is a Skatepark behind the parking area.
